U of L 'way up the list' for Tampa standout

The University of Louisville football staff is focused on the Russell Athletic Bowl but the coaches are also still trying to land prospects to finish out the Class of 2014. One of the top targets left on the board is Tampa, Fla., Catholic standout T.J. Harrell. Cardinal Authority spoke with Harrell and has the latest.

One of the top targets left on the board for the University of Louisville football programs in the Class of 2014 is T.J. Harrell.

The 6-foot, 205-pound standout athlete from Tampa, Fla., Catholic is expected to visit U of L on Jan 17 and said the Cardinals are "way up his list."

"They came in to see me and (the interest) is very high," Harrell said, noting Sherrone Moore and Charlie Strong have been to see him recently.

"They're very high, that's no lie."

Harrell said he is "excited" to check out the U of L campus and get to spend some time with the coaches and the players in the program.

"It will be fun, I like coach Moore a lot," Harrell said.

Harrell was a standout safety and running back for Tampa Catholic. He visited Michigan State during the season and is also scheduled to make a visit to Mississippi on Jan. 24. Kentucky, North Carolina St. and Missouri have also shown interest.
