Akoy Agau suspened from hoops team

MIAMI - University of Louisville freshman forward Akoy Agau has been suspended indefinitely from the men's basketball team, according to a release from the school. Cardinal Authority has the latest on the development.

Akoy Agau is with the University of Louisville basketball team on the trip to Miami for Saturday's game against Florida International.

But the freshman from Omaha, Neb., won't be playing in the game.

On Friday, U of L coach Rick Pitino said the 6-foot-8 Agau was suspended indefinitely for a minor issue. He did practice on Thursday with the Cardinals.

Agau has played 36 minutes in seven games this season, scoring two points and pulling down seven rebounds. He's been one of the final two players off the bench.

Agau helped lead Omaha Central to a fourth consecutive Nebraska Class A state title last season. He picked U of L over Georgetown and West Virginia.
