Poona Ford helps team win All-Star game

Two University of Louisville football commitments played in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas on Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C. Poona Ford helped the South Carolina team to a 28-23 win over the North Carolina All-Stars.

University of Louisville football commitment Poona Ford had a nice All-Star game on Saturday.

Ford had a sack and a couple of tackles to help the South Carolina All-Stars to a 28-23 victory over North Carolina in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, S.C.

Ford, who said he was a solid commitment to U of L earlier in the week, didn't start the week with the first=team line but ended the week as one of the top defensive linemen. His cousin, K.J., also had a sack for South Carolina.

Ford finished his senior year of high school with 154 tackles, 44 for loss and 10 sacks.

Another U of L commitment - Butler, N.C., linebacker Isaac Stewart - played on the North Carolina All-Star team.
