Recruits remain in limbo

The Cardinals 24 commitments are left waiting on Charlie Strong's decision before moving forward with the recruiting process

The anxiety throughout CardNation continues to rise as Charlie Strong's decision to accept or turn down an offer from the University of Texas to become the Longhorns next head coach continues into yet another day.

While Louisville fans continue to wait for the Cardinals fourth-year head coach to reach a decision, U of L's 24 commitments that make up the program's impressive recruiting class are left wondering what's next.

Currently ranked 21st in the country and third among ACC programs, the recruiting class could change significantly pending Strong's decision.

The Cardinals coaching staff has reassured many of the pledges and all remain in Louisville's fold as of Saturday evening.

Should Strong remain at Louisville, it should be expected that the class will remain primarily intact with the potential of being the highest rated group in program history. Should he depart for Texas, the class will certainly change.

Using history as a guide, a notable number of commits will reopen their recruitment and sign elsewhere, but many would likely remain committed and joined by new faces recruited by the new coaching staff.
