Poona Ford committed, others getting involved

U of L 4-star defensive tackle pledge talks with Cardinal Authority

One of the highest rated commitment in Louisville's 2014 recruiting class, Hilton Head, S.C., defensive tackle Poona Ford is going to attract a lot of attention from others following the departure of Charlie Strong.

The 6-foot-1, 275-pound four-star prospect spoke briefly with Cardinal Authority on Sunday about the situation.

Currently in California to play in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl, Ford stated that the game has his attention right now.

"I'm not trying to think about those things right now," he explained. "I'm focusing on this game."

After spurning interest from Clemson and South Carolina just a few weeks ago, Ford claimed that "as of right now" he's still committed to the Cardinals.

Scout.com's Michael Clark reports that South Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Purdue, Mississippi State and Michigan State will now be under considered.

Ford has turned many heads throughout the week as his squad practiced for the contest and was listed as one of the top defenders participating in the event.

"That's what I'm trying to do," he said.
