The University of Louisville will name a new head football coach on Thursday morning.
Bobby Petrino, who coached last season at Western Kentucky and was at U of L from 2003-06, is expected to be that man.
Cardinal Authority confirmed on Wednesday afternoon and it was later reported by multiple sources that Petrino had been offered the job. The Bowling Green Daily News reports Petrino has already accepted the position.
The news comes just four days after Charlie Strong left the program for Texas after four seasons. U of L athletic director Tom Jurich interviewed seven candidates for the job.
Jurich met with Petrino, his agent and wife, Becky, on Wednesday.
U of L has called a meeting of the U of L Athletics Association Board on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. and is expected to announce Petrino to the media at 10:30 a.m.
Cardinal Authority will keep you up-to-date on the situation.
