Pitino watches three, including top target

Orlando, Fla., Oak Ridge junior guard Antonio Blakeney has become one of the major 2015 targets for the University of Louisville. U of L coach Rick Pitino was in Florida again on Friday night watching Blakeney and two other prospects. Cardinal Authority has the latest on the targets:

On the night after losing to Memphis, University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was back on the road recruiting.

Pitino was in Orlando, Fla., for a matchup of teams that both had U of L targets on the floor – Evans High School vs. Oak Ridge.

Antonio Blakeney, one of the Cardinals' top 2015 targets, had 26 points for Oak Ridge but his team dropped a 77-66 decision to Evans.

It was the second time Pitino had been to see Blakeney this season, while he also came during the preseason for a workout. The 6-foot-3 Blakeney is ranked as the No. 18 shooting guard in the country and the No. 68 player overall.

"They want me bad," Blakeney said of U of L, noting he was in attendance two weeks ago when the Cardinals played at Central Florida in Orlando. "The program really fits me and I have a really good relationship with the coaches."

U of L assistant coach Mike Balado is the contact person and was also in attendance with Pitino last night for the game.

Blakeney said Pitino has told him he would be a great addition for U of L.

"He's been telling me to stay humble and he was just telling me how well I will fit into their system," Blakeney said.

Blakeney has over 20 offers, including U of L, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Oklahoma State and more.

Courtney Williamson, a 6-foot-5 wing from Evans, had 16 points for the winning team and is a U of L target, along with 6-9 junior Kerry Blackshear, who had 20 points for the Evans team.
