Petrino visiting with committed Indy lineman

On the first day of the live recruiting period, University of Louisville football coach spent time with Trinity quarterback Reggie Bonnafon and then traveled to Indianapolis for an in-home visit with another U of L commitment. Cardinal Authority has the story:

University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino had a busy first day of recruiting.

Petrino spent time with Trinity quarterback Reggie Bonnafon - who has committed to U of L - and his parents during the day.

He then drove to Indianapolis and watched Decatur Central offensive lineman Lukayus McNeil - also a U of L commitment - during basketball practice before making an in-home visit tonight at McNeil's.

"He watched Lukayus practice and we had a very nice visit," Decatur Central coach Justin Dixson said. "It was a nice visit."

Dixson said McNeil is "still committed" to the Cardinals and wanted to meet with Petrino after the coaching change. Several other schools, including Oklahoma, have stayed in contact.

"He just wanted to see how things worked out and sit down and talk to him," Dixson said.

The 6-foot-7, 290-pound McNeil is a three-star prospect and ranks as the No. 39 offensive tackle in the country by Scout.com.
