Petrino, Thomas visit Rushing

3-star wide receiver commit George Rushing, who is also considering Wisconsin and Missouri, received an in-home visit from U of L head coach Bobby Petrino on Monday.

A long time University of Louisville commit, wide receiver George Rushing began considering other options when coaching change happened.

The three-star prospect made his first official visit this past weekend, tripping to Wisconsin.

"It was a real good visit," Rushing said. "To be honest, I didn't know much about Wisconsin before I went, but I learned a lot.

"I liked the coaching staff and what they doing there and the university itself."

In their on-going effort to strengthen his prior pledge to the Cardinals, head coach Bobby Petrino and wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas visiting Rushing in his Miami home.

"It was a real good visit," Rushing told Cardinal Authority. "They were here for two hours. We had a good discussion."

Prior concerns about forming a relationship with a the Cardinals new head coach appears to have diminished.

"I think he's a really cool dude," Rushing said. "I enjoyed visiting with Coach Lamar, too. I really like the new coaching staff."

Rushing will make his official visit with Louisville this weekend. He'll travel to Columbia, Mo., the following weekend to visit with the Tigers program.

"I know they need receivers, but that's about it right now."

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Rushing established a new single season record with 18 receiving touchdowns at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons.
