The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Burns had some other schools call and wasn't sure if he was still going to honor his commitment to Louisville.
But starting to build a relationship with the new staff at U of L and taking an official visit this weekend, Burns is all set.
"I don't think I need to make any more visits," Burns told Cardinal Authority. "I love it there and the new coaches are great."
Burns said he had several schools trying to get him to make a visit next weekend but that he's "solid" with U of L. He will sign on Feb. 5 with the Cardinals.
Burns said new U of L offensive line coach Chris Klenakis had actually been recruiting him to Iowa State and is "a great, great guy."
"It's worked out great for me," Burns said. "I feel a whole lot better now. You just never know when things like that happen, but it's great.
"I am glad I stayed committed."
Burns anticipates playing tackle at U of L and said now he "can't wait to get there."
"I had a great time on my visit," he said.
