Washington sounds ACC bound

Miami (Fla.) Killian cornerback Trumaine Washington was among the group that made an official visit with Louisville over the weekend. Washington, a one-time Akron commit, tells Cardinal Authority that he's likely headed to an ACC program.

Miami (Fla.) Killian cornerback Trumaine Washington was among the ten prospects making their official visits over the weekend. He was one of three that weren't considered a Cardinal commitment heading into the weekend.

Washington committed to Akron in December, but continues to consider his options.

"It was a good visit," said Washington. "I loved it."

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound athlete appears to have been impressed by all aspects of his visit.

"The coaches were great, I loved the campus, I really liked the field and everyone that I met," Washington said. "It was a really nice place."

Washington didn't make a decision while in the Derby City, but he informed Bobby Petrino's staff that they are under serious consideration.

"I told them that I need to take my final visit," he explained. "I said that I'll let him know after my Syracuse visit."

It now appears that the talented corner is headed to the ACC.

"It's between Syracuse and Louisville."

Washington had four interceptions as a senior and nine for his career, while also returning two punts for touchdowns this past season.
