U of L basketball set to host three visitors

The University of Louisville men's basketball team has a pair of games this week and will host at least three big-time visitors. Cardinal Authority has the latest on a visitor for Thursday's game against Cincinnati and two for Saturday's Central Florida game.

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino and his staff have used an eight-day layoff to get out and see some top prospects.

Now, the Cardinals will host some prospects this week at games.

Antonio Blakeney, one of the top U of L targets in the Class of 2015, is expected to make a visit to Thursday's game against Cincinnati.

U of L is also expected to host Phoenix, Ariz., guard Lyrik Shreiner and ‘15' sharpshooter Luke Kennard of Ohio on Saturday when the Cardinals face off against Central Florida at 9 o'clock.

Blakeney is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Orlando, Fla., Oak Ridge High School and has already made one visit to U of L and saw the Cardinals play Central Florida in Orlando last month. Pitino has been to see him several times.

Blakeney has over 20 offers, including U of L, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Oklahoma State and more. He's ranked as the No. 68 player nationally in the Class of 2015 by Scout.com.

The 6-4 Shreiner is a member of the Class of 2014 and plays at Westwind Prep Academy in Arizona. He set a state record with 65 points in a game earlier this season and U of L assistant coach Wyking Jones has been out to see him.

The 6-foot-4 Kennard is ranked as the No. 4 shooting guard and the No. 15 player overall in the Class of 2015, according to Scout.com.

Kennard plays for Franklin, Ohio, High School. His team will play at Fairdale against Taylor County on Saturday evening at 6 o'clock.

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on all three recruitments.
