Butler CB Joe Brown will visit U of L

Louisville Butler High School cornerback Joe Brown ended his recruitment earlier this week, committing to Western Kentucky. But now he's going to make an official visit to Louisville this weekend. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

Louisville Butler High School cornerback Joe Brown ended his recruiting process - or so he thought - earlier this week with a verbal commitment to Western Kentucky.

But now, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound Brown is going to make an official visit to the University of Louisville this weekend.

Brown told Cardinal Authority that U of L tight ends coach Pete Nochta - who came to U of L with Petrino from WKU - was recruiting him at both places and asked him to visit.

"It was weird because I was just on my official visit and he was there," Brown said. "I liked him a lot and then he came to school and was wearing a Louisville jacket.

"I didn't think too much about it then."

But then Nochta asked him to visit and Brown said he's "really excited" about visiting his hometown school Cardinals.

"He told me I was one of coach Petrino's top guys when he was at Western Kentucky," Brown said. "So, I'm excited to see (Louisville).

"My parents are big Louisville fans."

Brown chose WKU over Arizona, where he officially visited last weekend, and Purdue.
