Wisconsin commit set to visit U of L

Memphis Melrose cornerback/wide receiver Cornelius Sturghill committed to Wisconsin last weekend on an official visit. But this weekend he's expected to make a trip to Louisville. Cardinal Authority has the latest.

One week after making a commitment to Wisconsin, Memphis Melrose cornerback/wide receiver Cornelius Sturghill is expected to make another official visit.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound three-star prospect is expected to be among the prospects making an official visit to the University of Louisville on Friday afternoon and spending the weekend.

Sturghill was being recruited by U of L wide receiver coach Lamar Thomas when he was at Western Kentucky. The Cardinals offered Sturghill a scholarship on Wednesday.

Sturghill is rated the No. 112 cornerback in the country by Scout.com and Wisconsin over eight other offers, including Mississippi State, Purdue, UCLA and Vanderbilt. He had a late offer from Missouri and said when he committed to the Badgers that Wisconsin and Mizzou were his finel two schools he was considering.

But perhaps Thomas has helped change his mind. He was an all-district and all-state player at receiver and safety for Melrose and is very athletic and has great ball skills.

Cardinal Authority will have more on his recruitment this weekend.
