The new coaching staff at the University of Louisville has already landed one junior-college offensive lineman - Kelby Johnson.
But the Cardinals are looking to bring in another JUCO lineman and have Hutchinson, Kan., standout Quincy McKinney in for a visit this weekend at U of L.
"They told me I could come in and compete right away," McKinney said. "I'm excited to visit. They're one of the hotter teams in college football in the past couple of years.
"It's big that I can play right when I step on campus and can compete for a national championship. Those things are big for me."
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound McKinney originally signed with North Carolina State out of Fork Union Military Academy but then spent one year at Hutchinson. He has two years of eligibility.
McKinney said he has made official visits to East Carolina and N.C. State and will make a final decision sometime early next week.
"I really didn't know much about them but I hear Louisville is a cool town," he said. "The new staff called me when they got to Louisville. I wanted to go check them out."
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on McKinney's recruitment.
