Emmitt Smith enjoys Louisville visit

Bowling Green (Ky.) Warren Central linebacker Emmitt Smith visited the Cardinals program on Sunday. Cardinal Authority spoke with the four-star prospect and has this report.

The Cardinals football program welcomed more than a dozen in-state prospects for unofficial visits. The prospects came from within city limits and elsewhere around the state.

The top-rated prospect in attendance was Bowling Green Warren Central linebacker Emmitt Smith.

Smith, along with all the visitors, attended the U of L basketball game at the KFC Yum! Center and met with assistant coaches.

"It was good," Smith said. "I really liked the basketball game."

Smith spent time with former Louisville tight end, turned graduate assistant/tight end coach Pete Nochta.

"He talked about what type of grades they expect from the players and things like that," Smith said.

During his visit, Smith spent most of his time with Bowling Green linebacker Darrian Scott and running back Marquez Trigg of Glasgow.

"They really liked it a lot, too."

Smith, who currently holds scholarship offers from Kentucky and Western Kentucky has a busy few weeks ahead on his schedule.

"I'm going to Western Kentucky this coming weekend and then I'm going to Arizona State for their Junior Day," Smith said.

Smith was an All-State honorable mention selection as a junior.
