In-state WR talks about Louisville visit

Lexington Bryan Station High School wide receiver Marcus Floyd talks about his visit to the University of Louisville last weekend. Floyd is considered one of the state's top '15 prospects.

Lexington Bryan Station High School wide receiver Marcus Floyd is getting some college looks. He's heard from Western Kentucky, Purdue and Kentucky along with Indiana State.

Floyd has also heard from Louisville and last weekend he checked out the Cardinals.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Floyd made an unofficial visit to U of L on Sunday, touring the facilities, talking with the coaches and taking in a U of L basketball game.

"I loved it and everything about it," Floyd said. "Everything they are doing and the new staff, I just loved it all.

"The offensive scheme is great. I am very, very interested in them."

Floyd said he spent time with U of L tight ends coach Pete Nochta, who played at U of L and is from Lexington Tates Creek.

"He said they are really interested in me and they think I'm one of the top players in the state," Floyd said. "I'm interested in them and he said they would keep an eye on me.

"I hope I can make a trip back there soon. I didn't know much about coach Petrino from when he was at Louisville before, but I remember him at Arkansas. I like what he does as a coach."

Floyd caught 28 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns as a junior.
