Brownsburg, Ind., High School offensive lineman Evan Mallory has been on an unofficial visit to the University of Louisville.
But that was when he was younger and with the previous staff at U of L.
"I remember it was a cool place," Mallory said.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Mallory hadn't heard from the Cardinals in a while until recently. He said his high school coach told him the Cardinals called and he called line coach Chris Klenakis, who then offered him a scholarship.
"I hadn't talked to the new staff," he said. "But when I got the offer it definitely peeked my interest. The last time I was there it was a totally different coaching staff.
"I know the facilities are nice and I remember it being a nice place. I'm very interested."
Mallory is listed as the No. 34 offensive guard in the country by Scout.com. His other offers are from Indiana, Cincinnati, Illinois, Purdue, Ball State, Toledo and Western Michigan.
Mallory said he was expected to visit Purdue this week and said the U of L coaches are hoping to get him up for a visit during spring practice.
"I don't really have a favorite yet," he said. "I have a couple that I am thinking about a little more than the others but on the other hand, I am keeping my options open.
"It's still a little early and I want to keep all of my options open."
Mallory, who also plays rugby, was named All-Conference as a junior.
