The Petrino era begins again at Louisville

The University of Louisville begins Spring Practice on Tuesday afternoon at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinals will have 14 practices - all open to the public - leading up to the April 11 Wendy's Wonderful Kids Spring Game. Cardinal Authority will be there for it all.

The Bobby Petrino era will officially begin at the University of Louisville at 4 o'clock today.

The Cardinals will kick off Spring Practice with Petrino back at the helm as head coach of the Cardinals. The spring season will last 14 practices and leads up to the April 11 Spring Game to be held at 7:30 p.m.

"We're excited to get going," Petrino said. "We've been working hard, now we get to get out on the field and see what we've got."

Petrino was hired back at U of L after Charlie Strong left for Texas on Jan. 4. The Cardinals have gone 23-3 over the last two seasons and won the Sugar Bowl and Russell Athletic Bowl.

But the spring will have a new staff and a bunch of new faces in place for the Cardinals.

Cardinal Authority will be there to cover it all for you throughout spring ball.

U of L is expected to practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for the next four weeks at 4 p.m. and Saturday's for the next three weeks at a time to be determined.

All practices are free and open to the public.
