It was a big night for the future of the University of Louisville basketball team.
With most of the current U of L players looking on from the end zone, U of L signee Quentin Snider was named MVP of the winning White team in a 124-108 victory in the Kentucky Derby Festival Classic at Freedom Hall.
Snider finished with eight points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals and was 3 of 7 from the field.
"Like I told you, I just wanted to pass and get everybody involved," he said. "That was fun. I was able to get (a dunk) for Jaylen (Johnson) and (Chinanu Onuaku)."
Snider had back-to-back alley-oops in the third quarter for his future teammates, including one from near midcourt to Johnson.
The two other U of L players also had big nights in the Derby Classic.
Johnson was 7 of 12 from the field and finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists for the Green team.
Onuaku was only 3 of 11 but had 7 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots.
"I'm just ready to get to work," Onuaku said. "It was fun being with those guys."
