U of L football sending out more offers

The University of Louisville football staff is back on the road this week, checking out prospects all over the country. Here's an update on a few of the latest prospects offered by the U of L staff during their travels this week.

The new football staff at the University of Louisville is all over the country.

The coaches are out visiting prospects and offering new targets scholarships.

Here's an update of a few new offers:

****Eastern Arizona Community College athlete Tim Cook landed an offer from U of L. He's a native of White Hall, Ark., and also has offers from Wisconsin, Arizona, California, Cincinnati and several others. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Cook is being recruited as an athlete after playing linebacker, defensive end and running back last season. He ran for 300 yards in five games last season.

****Fairburn, Ga., Creekside wide receiver Jayson Stanley landed an offer on Tuesday night from the Cardinals. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound wide receiver is the No. 39 wide receiver in the country, according to Scout.com. Auburn, Georgia and Clemson have been showing him the most interest, while he also has offers from Alabama, Wisconsin, Virginia and California. He finished his junior season with 41 receptions for 817 yards and 16 touchdowns and helped Creekside to a 15-0 record and the first state championship in school history.

****One of the top players in the state of Mississippi - Fletcher Adams - also received an offer. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman has said his top five recently was Alabama, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Auburn and Georgia. He recorded 99 tackles, including seven sacks, as a junior for Brandon, Miss.

****Jacksonville, Fla., The Bolles School athlete Dexter Carter Jr., also landed an offer. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Carter holds other offers from Wisconsin, Alcorn State, Auburn, Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee and Virginia. His father played running back for Florida State and went on to play in the NFL for six years with the 49ers and Jets. The younger Carter rushed 94 times for 673 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, while catching 41 passes for 793 yards and 11 TDs. He also played at corner and returner for Bolles and had a 99-yard TD on an interception in one game.

****A prospect on the rise in recent weeks is Pinson, Ala., Clay-Chalkville defensive lineman Kendell Jones. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Jones now has five offers, including Louisville, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Troy and Western Kentucky. Jones Jones finished his junior year with 28 tackles, including 2.5 sacks.

****Mississippi commitment Justin Conner also landed an offer from U of L. Conner is a 5-foot-9, 196-pound running back from Sardis, Miss., North Panola.

****Jacksonville, Fla., Fletcher High School wide receiver Kalif Jackson continues to see his list of scholarship offers grow. The 6-foot-4 and 192-pound Jackson added offers from Tulane and Louisville on Tuesday. He now has more than 12 total offers.

****U of L hasn't offered but defensive coordinator Todd Grantham stopped in to see Blythewood, S.C., linebacker Hassan Belton.
