"They weren't really recruiting me that hard," he said. "They'd send me mail from time to time, but this was the first time that I've talked a coach.
"It feels good when a big time school is offering you like Louisville."
The Cardinals join Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri and North Carolina in offering the two-time All-State performer.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound four-star prospect has the ability to move from the nose tackle spot in the 3-4 defense to the end in the 4-3 set. He's recorded over 120 tackles for each of the past two seasons, earning All-Metro honors and was a standout performer at the Nike Football Training Camp.
"He has a good get-off, he showed off a good rip move, and is one who could play on the inside or outside on the next level," said Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons of Adam's performance at the NFTC held in Birmingham.
While the offers are sure to continue to roll in for Adams, a few schools have made an early impression and make up a current top five.
"Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia and Missouri," said Adams, further explaining that his list "can change."
"It's my top five right now, but it could still change as the process goes on."
Adam's hopes to have a decision prior to the start of senior season, but isn't locked in making a choice before he's certain.
"I'd like to do it by the end of the summer, but that can still change, because I want to make sure that I choose the right school."
