Louisville on top for 3-star Kalin Heath

Cartersville, Ga., athlete Kalin Heath picked up a scholarship offer from Louisville shortly after making a visit for the Cardinals Junior Day in April. The three-star prospect reports that the Cardinals remain on top of his list.

Louisville climbed to the top of Cartersville, Ga., athlete Kalin Heath list after the Cardinals extended a scholarship offer soon after his Junior Day visit.

The trip to the Derby City in early April left an impression that has Louisville high on his list. His father was impressed that he's ready to have his son make the call for the Cardinals now.

"My father really likes it there," said Heath, who plays both running back and linebacker. "He wants me to commit there. I tell him that I need to weigh all my options before I make a decision. I want to visit a couple other schools to make a comparison.

"He really liked the atmosphere there," he continued. "He said that if I went there that he would move there because he really likes it there and it's not far from home. He liked the facilities and how the stadium is and that they are talking about adding more seats to the stadium."

6-foot-3, 190-pound three-star prospect also holds offers from Charlotte, Chattanooga, James Madison, Kansas State and Marshall. He also has drawn interest from Cincinnati, Clemson, Middle Tennessee State and others. He plans to visit a number of schools this month, including a return trip to Louisville for the Cardinals camp in June.

"Louisville is number one right now," he said. "They are on top of my list."

While his dad has suggested that he commit to U of L now, Heath hopes to make his decision after making his visits this summer.

"I'm thinking about committing by the end of the summer, but I'm not sure yet. If not, I'll probably do it during the season."

As a junior, Heath ran 66 times for 817 yards and 11 touchdowns and had 18 catches for 244 yards.
