U of L football: Recruiting notebook

Here are a few notebook items from around the University of Louisville football program, including several new scholarship offers.

CARDS OFFER Florida TEAMMATES

With the coaches back on the road recruiting, the University of Louisville was back at it offering several prospects on Monday.

Among those offered by the U of L staff were teammates from Tallahassee, Fla., North Florida Christian School.

One of the offers went to 2015 wide receiver Christian Philpott, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound three-star who is ranked as the No. 60 wide receiver in the country by Scout.com.

Philpott also has offers from Central Florida, Miami, Army, Penn State, Texas Tech, Indiana, N.C. State, Virginia and Cincinnati among others.

U of L also offered his teammate Korey Charles, a 6-foot, 175-pound athlete. Charles also has offers from LSU, Miami, Mississippi St., Miami, South Florida and North Carolina.

CARDS OFFER NO. 6 FOR Georgia TE

U of L became offer No. 6 for Lawrenceville, Ga., Archer High tight end Connor Redmond.

The 6-foot-4, 224-pound Redmond also has offers from South Carolina, Boston College, Memphis, Virginia and Purdue.

As a junior, Redmond caught 37 passes for 400 yards and six touchdowns. He missed two games with a knee injury.

U of L also offered Redmond's teammate - 2016 athlete Kyle Davis - on Monday.

The 6-3, 220-pound Davis also has offers from Miami, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ole Miss and Illinois among others.

OFFERS OUT FOR NEW JERSEY LB

Jersey City, N.J., St. Peters Prep outside linebacker Jordan Fox picked up offers from both U of L and Wisconsin on Monday.

The 6-3, 225-pound Fox also holds offers from Boston College, Miami, Georgia, Connecticut, Nebraska, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech among others.

CARDS OFFER 2016 QUARTERBACK

With six quarterbacks on the roster, U of L coach Bobby Petrino isn't finished trying to fill the position with top players.

The Cardinals offered 2016 quarterback Jarrett Guarantano of Oradell, N.J., Bergen Catholic High School. He's a 6-foot-4, 195-pound already has a ton of top scholarship offers.

Guarantano added a U of L offer to other offers from Ohio State, Michigan State, Arizona State, Boston College, Clemson, Michigan State, Nebraska, UNC, Ohio State, Rutgers, Tennessee, and Virginia comprise his offer list.

After seeing spot duty as a freshman, Guarantano was the Bergen Catholic starting QB for the final four games of his sophomore season. He finished his 2013 season 39 of 80 for 449 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
