Preston Brown the 73rd pick to the Bills

Former University of Louisville linebacker Preston Brown became the fourth ex-Cardinal picked in the NFL Draft. Brown was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the third round with the No. 73 pick of the Draft on Friday night.

Former University of Louisville linebacker Preston Brown said earlier this week he was hoping to be picked in the third round of this week's NFL Draft in New York City.

On Friday night, Brown got his wish.

The Buffalo Bills selected the native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and three-year starter for the Cardinals with the No. 73 pick overall.

Brown became the fourth ex-U of L player picked in the draft following Calvin Pryor (No. 18), Marcus Smith (No. 26) and Teddy Bridgewater (No. 32).

The 6-foot-1, 250-pound Brown finished his career at U if L with 301 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and an interception.

"I just want to go somewhere and start working to prove I belong," Brown said before the draft. "I'm ready to get to work."
