U of L offers Evander Holyfield's son

The University of Louisville football staff continued its offering spree on Thursday. The Cardinals offered a bunch of new prospects, including the son of former all-time boxing great Evander Holyfield. Cardinal Authority has the latest on Holyfield and a teammate.

Elijah Holyfield has seen the attention his father - boxing great Evander Holyfield - has drawn over the years.

Now, the younger Holyfield is getting some of that attention for his play in football.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back in the Class of 2016 is getting a bunch of offers. The latest if one from the University of Louisville on Thursday afternoon.

Holyfield plays for Woodward Academy in Atlanta and also has offers from Ohio State, Tennessee, Duke, Minnesota, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi State and Wake Forest along with interest from Georgia and a bunch of others.

As a sophomore, Holyfield carried 66 times for 645 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has over a dozen scholarship offers at this point.

U of L also offered Holyfield's teammate - Antone Williams. He's a 5-foot-11, 160-pound Class of 2016 cornerback.

Williams has offers from UK, Minnesota, Virginia Tech and Duke among others.
