U of L baseball lands in-state commitment

The University of Louisville baseball team landed its first commitment in the Class of 2017 on Monday night, picking up a commitment from Ballard High School pitcher Jordon Adell.

Good things keep happening for the University of Louisville baseball program.

One day after advancing into the Super Regional for the fourth time in eight years, the Cardinals landed a commitment from one of the state's top young players.

Ballard pitcher/outfielder Jordon Adell became the first commitment in the Class of 2017 for the Cardinals. He picked U of L over Kentucky, LSU and Georgia among others.

Adell, whose sister was the Gatorade Softball Player of the Year in Kentucky this season, was 4-3 with a 3.45 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 35 innings as a freshman. He hit .297 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs.

U of L already has one of the top 2016 recruiting classes in the country with about eight or so commitments.
