The University of Louisville football program has had success recruiting in the Jacksonville-area in the past.
Now, the Cardinals are trying to dip into the fertile area once again.
On Tuesday night, Jacksonville Trinity Christian three-star athlete Chris Barr said he picked up an offer from the Cardinals.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver and defensive back has big-play ability and in recent weeks has picked up offers from Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois and Oregon State.
Other schools that have offered Barr include: Cincinnati, South Florida, UCF, Memphis, Purdue, UAB, Troy, Wisconsin and Utah.
According to Scout.com analyst Patrick Burnham, "Barr is fastest enough to have qualified for the state finals in the 100-meters as a sophomore and still holds the record for the fastest time in the 100-meters that anyone has ever run at Trinity as freshman with a time of 11.6 seconds. Barr has only continued to get faster and has posted a time of 11.1 seconds already this spring."
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Barr.
