Apollo's Wright 'just loved' visit to U of L

Owensboro Apollo guard Eli Wright, one of the top 2016 prospects in the state of Kentucky, made his second unofficial visit to the University of Louisville this week. Cardinal Authority checks in with Wright after he returned home.

Owensboro, Ky., Apollo guard Eli Wright said he was excited when the University of Louisville coaches showed him a board with the school's top 2016 targets while he was on a visit.

"I was on the list," Wright said. "So, that made me feel really good."

The 6-foot-4 guard made his second visit to U of L on Wednesday, watching a workout and had a chance to chat with the U of L coaches.

"They said they wanted me to come back in a couple of weeks and stay over, play some more pickup with the players," Wright said. "I really liked it a lot. I just loved it all."

Wright claims offers from Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Mississippi State and UAB.

He plays AAU ball for Hoop Dreams, based out of Lexington, and said coach Rick Pitino told him the Cardinals would "watch me close."

As a sophomore, Wright averaged 21.3 points a game for the Eagles.
