15' RB Matt Colburn Talks Tennessee Camp

2015 Dutch Fork standout ran the fastest 40 time today in Knoxville and impressed the staff greatly. Earlier this week he camped with NC State and last week he camped with Louisville and earned an offer from the Cardinals. Come inside for an update on his latest two camps stops which ended today in Knoxville.

Matt Colburn Profile

One of the state's hottest prospects, Dutch Fork running back Matt Colburn, attended camp at Tennessee today. Earlier this week on Wednesday he attended camp with North Carolina State. The dynamic 2015 prospect broke down how both camps went and what coaches had to say to him while he was there.

On Wednesday Colburn talked about his time in Raleigh camping with NC State.

"It went well! I was fast and crisp in all of my individual drills. I caught every single pass and no one could cover me in one on ones! We didn't get to test though because it was raining."

So what did the Wolfpack coaches say to Colburn?

"Coach Kitchings was the only one I spoke with. He said I looked real good out there and he told me that the door is still open because no running backs have committed yet."

So does Colburn feel like an offer could be on the way from the Wolfpack?

"Perhaps. I'm not banking on one though!"

So on Friday afternoon Colburn hit us up right after leaving Knoxville and camping with the Volunteers to talk about his experience.

"I'm just now leaving Tennessee. It was great, I ran the fastest 40 of the day with a 4.47 and the head coach Butch Jones came to me and told me to run my shuttle again because I slipped the first few times. He called me by my name so that stood out! I was shocked. I got great times and did great in individuals. No one could cover me in one on ones and I caught all of my balls! The running backs coach and I are pretty close, he told me to stay afterwards at the end. He told me that they're only taking one more running back so they're going to reevaluate all of the film with the staff next week."

"He said I did everything perfect and coming up to day more than helped myself. They wanna make sure they get the right back. He wants to continue to build a closer relationship and wants to be in contact more. He said I did great today, all of the coaches were imrpessed when he showed me to them so I'm feeling good! He said I have a great chance. I hope that they will offer because I strained and pushed myself out there today. I have a good feeling they might. Right now I'm in the process of scheduling visits. No more camps for me!"

Last week the Dutch Fork standout picked up an offer from Louisville during camp with the Cardinals.
