Top in-state prospect camps at Louisville

Among the 100 prospects visiting the University of Louisville earlier this week for Elite Camp was one of the state's top young players - Harlan County High School's Blair Green. Cardinal Authority has the latest on her recruitment.

One of the state's top young prospects, Blair Green played on the varsity level at Middlesboro High School as a seventh and eighth grader.

Now preparing for her freshman season at Harlan County High School, Green is getting a lot of college attention already.

The 6-foot Green is extremely skilled and versatile for her age. She will be playing at Harlan County for her mother, Debbie.

Debbie Green said her daughter played at U of L's team camp just five weeks after having surgery on her knee for a meniscus tear.

The younger Green already has offers from U of L and Vanderbilt and is expected to camp at Duke, Kentucky, Dayton and perhaps others. Green is considered the top prospect statewide in the Class of 2018, incoming freshmen.

Green has some talented bloodlines. Debbie Green was an all-state forward at Harlan during her senior season in 1987. She was named to the Kentucky All-Star team and signed with UK.

But she left UK in the middle of her freshman season and finished her career at Lincoln Memorial University. She is still the school's all-time leading scorer and was an NAIA All-American during her career at LMU.

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Green.
