The 6-foot-4 Blakeney plays at Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge High School and is ranked as the No. 20 prospect in the Class of 2015.
Some of the schools making Blakeney a top priority are: Louisville, Florida, Kansas, Florida State, Providence, USC and LSU. He's also heard from a ton of other schools, including a recent offer from North Carolina.
Blakeney sat down with Cardinal Authority and answered five questions:
Cardinal Authority: You have been in the mix with Louisville for a while now, what do you like about the Cardinals?
Blakeney: "The relationship the coaches have with the players, the style of play, the guys and how the interact and just how much fun they have, it's fun to watch them."
CA: Coach Mike Balado has been the point man but I know coach Rick Pitino has also been in touch a lot with you as well right?
Blakeney: "Yes, and that's why I like them a lot. I have a great relationship with coach Balado and coach Pitino is a great guy. I really like talking to them and that's one of the reasons I really like Louisville a lot."
CA: You have really improved your game in a year, how have you done that?
Blakeney: "I go against some pros in my area, like Sebastian Telfair he works out at UCF, Isaiah Sykes and guys like that. I think that makes me better. I rally improve a lot going against guys like that on the court."
CA: At the NPBA Top 100 camp, you were one of the top scorers and you made some contested shots, got to the rim, hit some tough shots. Do you think playing against those pros helps you with those not-so-easy attempts.
Blakeney: "When I am working out there are no fouls, you have to play through it. There's no crying about it or anything like that you just have to play and do it. So, yeah I think that's helped me out a great deal."
CA: Has U of L told you a lot about the need for your position or playing time?
Blakeney: "You know they told me that like anybody I would have to come in and work hard for playing time, but I know they need someone like me to come in and help. That's why I have been looking at them pretty hard."
