Chattanooga, Tenn., Hamilton Heights Christian 2016 big man Abdul Ado turned in a breakout performance this week during the Reebok Breakout Classic in Philadelphia.
The 6-foot-11, 230-pound Ado earned several new scholarship offers, including from the University of Louisville. His high school confirmed the offer via its Twitter account.
The Cardinals called Ado on Friday, one day after U of L head coach Rick Pitino and assistant coach Kenny Johnson watched him in multiple games during the Reebok event.
The Cardinals have been recruiting Ado since Johnson was hired in April. He was supposed to make a recent visit to the U of L campus but it was later postponed because of a conflict.
Ado, who runs on the AAU circuit with the Georgia Stars, is supposed to make to reschedule for sometime in August.
Ranked as the No. 51 overall prospect in the Class of 2016 by Scout.com, national analyst Evan Daniels said in a story after the first day at Reebok that it might not be "high enough."Daniels wrote: "He has the tools on the offensive end. He has good hands and touch around the rim, plus he even showed good footwork on a step through finish.
Ado also has offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Memphis.
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Ado.
