U of L women in top 5 for top 10 prospect

CHICAGO - The University of Louisville women's basketball program made the final five list on Sunday for one of the top 10 prospects in the country. Arike Ogunbowale narrowed her list to U of L, Notre Dame, Ohio State, UCLA and Wisconsin.

After showing her skills this week at the Nike Nationals in Chicago, Arike Ogunbowale sat down with her family and talked recruiting.

And she narrowed her list to five schools.

Ogunbowale, ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the country by ProspectsNation.com, tweeted her list is Louisville, Notre Dame, Ohio State, UCLA and Wisconsin. She told Cardinal Authority this week that she would likely visit all five schools before making a decision.

"I want to find the right style for me," she said. "I have a lot of good schools, it's going to be a hard decision for me."

The 5-foot-9 Ogunbowale is a senior at Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels and plays AAU for North Tartan.

Ogunbowale eliminated Connecticut, North Carolina, Duke, DePaul, Marquette, Michigan and Stanford from her list.

A two-time gold medalist for USA Basketball, Ogunbowale helped the United States under-17 team win the FIBA world championship recently. She averaged 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in seven games with the U-17 team.

Her cousin is Diamond Stone, one of the top '15 men's basketball prospects in the country.
