Pitino checks out newest commitment

University of Louisville basketball coach left Augusta, Ga., on Friday afternoon and went to check out the Cardinals' newest commitment - Deng Adel - in an event in Milwaukee, Wisc. See what other prospects Pitino watched on Friday:

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino and his staff continue to pound the pavement on the recruiting trail.

The four-man staff have been out every hour possible - when games are being played - during each of the first two weeks of the month.

On Friday, Pitino veered off course a bit. While most of the top coaches across the country, the U of L head man took in a game at the Peach State in Augusta, Ga., and then flew to Milwaukee for the NY2LA Summer Jam.

Pitino made the special trip to watch the newest U of L commitment Deng Adel, who had 17 points and eight rebounds in the game.

While he's expected to come back to the Peach State this weekend, Pitino is likely to watch Adel again early Friday evening in a game with his Florida Elite team. U of L assistant coach Mike Balado is also in Milwaukee.

Pitino took in a game with Trinity's Ray Spalding before he left Augusta. Spalding helped The Ville to a pair of wins on Friday.

U of L assistant coach Wykins Jones remains in Augusta, Ga., while Kenny Johnson spent time on Friday at the Under Armour event in Atlanta.
