Cardinal Authority has confirmed that former Washington State quarterback Tyler Bruggman is transferring to the University of Louisville.
He chose the Cardinals after also considering Arkansas, Duke and Indiana.
Bruggman was a Scout.com four-star prospect out of Phoeniz (Az.) Brophy College Preparatory in 2012 and spent last season a redshirt with the Cougars.
Expected to compete for the backup spot this fall, Bruggman chose to take his talents elsewhere. He originally committed to Mike Leech after strongly considering Bobby Petrino at Arkansas, among others.
Rated in the Scout Top 300 and among the top 25 quarterbacks as a high school senior, Bruggman earned All-State honors after guiding his team to an 11-3 record. He threw for 2,803 yards with 33 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while also running for four more scores. He also earned Division I Section III Offensive Player of the Year.
