Holland Talks Top Six

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian class of 2015 DE/OLB/WR Jeff Holland is considered one of top prospects in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound senior says that he currently has a top six and knows where he will take four of his official visits this fall and winter.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian High School linebacker/wide receiver Jeff Holland is considered one of the most coveted prospects in the state of Florida for the class of 2015. The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound senior has over three dozen FBS scholarship offers but says that six schools currently stand out to him. Holland would also like the opportunity to play both sides of the ball in college.

”Florida, Auburn, UCLA, USC, South Carolina and FSU,” answered Holland when asked which schools were among his top five or six favorites at this time.

That seems to go hand-in-hand with what Holland told Scout.com’s Amy Campbell two weeks ago. The two-way player told Campbell he intends on taking official visits to Auburn, Florida, UCLA and USC this fall and winter, leaving FSU and South Carolina in a battle for his fifth visit.

Holland camped at Florida in late July and as worked hard all summer on improving his play on both sides of the ball.

”I had a great summer working out and getting better. I just camped at Florida (for Friday Night Lights) and I had a great time. I got to work out with coaches at linebacker and receiver so it has been going great,” Holland said of his summer and Florida camp.

Holland says he is intrigued with the possibility of playing both ways in college but does prefer one side of the ball to the other.

”A lot of schools have offered me for offense and defense. They think I can go both ways, probably. Anywhere I go I want a shot at both but I prefer to play defense, but if they give me a shot I’ll take it,” Holland said.

Auburn also received an unofficial visit from Holland this summer where he got a chance to spend some time with Tiger’s head football coach Gus Malzahn.

”I visited Auburn once this summer. It was great. I talked to Coach Malzahn. I love Auburn,” Holland said.

He was also supposed to take an unofficial visit to UCLA during the last week of July but has decided to wait and visit during a time frame when all the Bruin players are on-campus.

Holland said that his relationship with his future college coaches and his family’s ability to see him play will factor into his final decision. He did stress however that his family would support him if he ultimately decides to play his college ball on the west coast.

Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and Ohio State are just a few of the schools Holland also holds offers from.
