With kicker John Wallace entering his junior season, the University of Louisville football staff is expected to sign a kicker in the recruiting Class of 2015.
And one potential option is in-state prospect Blanton Creque of Collins High School in Shelbyville.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound Creque told Cardinal Authority that he will be in attendance on Monday night for the ACC debut of the Cardinals.
"I'm excited," Creque said. "Coach (Bobby) Petrino called me himself and said he wanted me to come and visit," Creque said. "I have been talking to coach (Pete) Nochta and I went to camp there back in June.
"It was good because when I went to camp, I had a chance to see the facilities and the staff. I'm excited to be going back."
Creque said his only offer at this point is from Morehead State. But he has talked with Kentucky, Stanford, Western Kentucky and UAB.
As a junior, Creque connected on 80 of 81 extra points and was 9 of 14 on field goals. He's ranked as the No. 19 kicker in the country by ChrisSailerKicking.com.
Creque said he has "a lot of confidence" heading into his senior season after a solid summer. He is "very confident" 55 yards and in on his field goal. He was 2-for-2 last week in Collins' opener on extra points in the mud.
"I went to Los Angeles and won the (Chris Sailer) field-goal camp," he said. "I've improved a lot on my kickoffs and my leg is stronger. I'm looking forward to a big season."
