Another day, another commitment for the University of Louisville football team. On Tuesday, the defense gets a boost.

The Cardinals landed a commitment from Smiths Station, Ala., three-star linebacker Amonte Caban. He's the 18th commitment in the Class of 2015.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound picked the Cardinals over Tennessee, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Clemson and Kentucky. He also had offers from Cincinnati, Jacksonville State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Troy, UAB and Western Kentucky.

Caban is the No. 12 ranked middle linebacker by Scout.com.

Talking about his potential decision last week, Caban said he had narrowed it to U of L, Tennessee and South Carolina. U of L was the only school of the three he hadn't visited.

As a junior, Caban registered 140 tackles, including 11 for a loss and a three for sacks.
