New Jersey standout visited U of L women

Lodi, N.J., Immaculate Conception forward Sam Fuehring made her official visit with the University of Louisville women's basketball program over the weekend. The 6-foot-3 Fuehring is ranked as the No. 26 prospect in the country.

The recruiting push in the Class of 2015 continued over the weekend for the University of Louisville women's basketball program.

With four commitments already in the '15 class, U of L coach Jeff Walz and his staff hosted New Jersey standout Samantha Fuehring.

The 6-foot-3 Fuehring attends Lodi, N.J., Immaculate Conception and plays AAU for the New Jersey Sparks program.

In an interview in July, Fuehring told Cardinal Authority that she wanted to make a college decision before her senior season of high school ball. She had been an underrated prospect until last spring and now she's ranked No. 26 by ProspectNations.com nationally.

"It opened up for me and I had about 30 schools," Fuehring said. "Louisville has been in there. They are very nice and welcoming. I watched them on TV last year a lot and I think I would fit in well there."

Fuehring recently narrowed her list of colleges to: U of L, California, Dayton, Rutgers, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Tennessee. As a junior, Fuehring averaged 20.9 points and 7.8 rebounds a game and garnered selections on First Team All-Bergen.
