The University of Louisville baseball team has landed a commitment from Cincinnati Moeller left-handed pitcher Nick Bennett. He's one of the top lefties in the Class of 2016. The Cardinals now have nine commitments in the '16 class.

The University of Louisville's run in recruiting continues, this time it is the baseball team pulling in a highly-regarded recruit.

U of L baseball coach Dan McDonnell and his staff have landed a commitment from Cincinnati Moeller junior pitcher Nick Bennett.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Bennett is considered one of the top left-handed pitchers in the Class of 2016. He picked U of L over a host of other big-time schools.

Bennett also had offers from Vanderbilt Mississippi, Cincinnati, South Alabama and Kentucky and had been considering Virginia and North Carolina among others.

PerfectGame.org ranks Bennett as the No. 275 prospects nationally in the '16 class. He's the ninth commitment for U of L in the class and the fourth pitcher.

As a sophomore, Bennett was 4-2 with 39 strikeouts in 33.1 innings with a 2.31 ERA.
