U of L football: Recrutiing update

Cardinal Authority takes a look at how each of the 18 commitments fared over the weekend for the University of Louisville football team.

The University of Louisville football program has 18 commitments in the Class of 2015. Here’s a look at how those prospects fared this weekend:

James Allen, Citra, Fla., North Marion

Allen carried 11 times for 159 yards and two TDs – but had 0 yards in the second half – in a 30-26 loss to Suwanee.

Tim Bonner, DE, Demopolis, Ala.

Bonner had 10 tackles, two tackles for a loss and a forced fumble in a 48-31 victory over Helena.

Amonte Caban, LB, Smiths Station, Ala.

Caban was solid again for Smiths Station in a 23-10 win over Valley.

Aaron Cochran, DE, Atlanta Grady

Grady moved to 3-1 with a 23-17 win over Lithonia.

Matt Colburn, RB, Irmo, S.C., Dutch Fork

Colburn carried 21 times for 125 yards and one TD in a 48-37 loss to Dorman.

Dahu Green, WR, Oklahoma City, Okla., Westmoore

Green had four catches for 41 yards, one touchdown and a two-point conversion in a 48-41 win over Norman North.

Jonathan Greenard, LB, Hiram, Ga.

Hiram had an open week.

Paul Harris, WR, Iowa Western

Iowa Western beat Dodge City 57-14.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Boynton Beach, Fla.

Playing in front of coach Lamar Thomas, Jackson rushed 15 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns and completed 6 of 14 passes for 132 yards and another TD in a 28-10 won over Westminster Christian.

T.J. Jallow, S, Olive Branch, Miss.

Jallow is averaging six tackles a game; Olive Branch beat Rosa Fort 41-6.

Chandler Jones, OL, Powder Springs, Ga., McEachern

Jones helped McEachern get a 7-3 win over Lovejoy.

Kareem Orr, RB, Chattanooga, Tenn., Notre Dame

Orr had more than 100 yards receiving and three touchdowns, also adding four tackles and a pass breakup in a 28-0 win over Bledsoe County.

Khane Pass, S, Columbus, Ga., Carver

Pass helped Carver to a 43-41 win over Troup County.

G.G. Robinson, TE, Lilburn, Ga., Parkview

Robinson is averaging 4.5 tackles a game but Parkview lost a 13-7 decision to Grayson this week.

Traveon Samuel, RB, Phenix City, Ala., Central

Samuel had 288 all-purpose yards, including 135 yards receiving and 105 yards rushing, and three total touchdowns in a 42-34 win over Prattville.

Jaylen Smith, WR, Pascaguola, Miss., High School

Pascaguola didn’t play this week.

Trey Smith, RB, Madison, Miss., Central

Madison Central also had an open week.

Troy Thingstad, OL, Mobile, Ala., St. Paul’s Episcopal

St. Paul’s moved to 5-0 with a 42-6 win over Faith Academy.
