Louisville offense focused on improving play

VIDEO: University of Louisville offensive coordinator Garrick McGee and offensive lineman Jake Smith visited with the media following Tuesday's practice.

The University of Louisville returned to the practice fields on Tuesday afternoon with the goal of improving.

For an offense that has struggled at times, both along the offensive front and at quarterback, the attention to becoming better each day out is the focus.

"We just have to do everything better," said senior lineman Jake Smith. "We have to play better as a unit, but we are excited to be back in the comfort of our own stadium. We just want to go out and get better."

The Cardinals will host ACC foe Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium at 3:30 p.m. A three touchdown favorite against the Demon Deacons, the players and coaches are excited to play at home following two consecutive road games.

"We just focused on getting better," said offensive coordinator Garrick McGee. "We are excited to be home in our stadium. We have played well in our stadium in front of our crowd. There was a lot of intensity and enthusiasm out there today in practice."

U of L updated the status of starting quarterback Will Gardner following Tuesday's practice and his status remains day-to-day.
