Eric Hester remains a target for Louisville

The University of Louisville's 2016 recruiting class is likely to be small but one prospect who remains a top target is Oldsmar, Fla., Christian guard Eric Hester. U of L assistant Mike Balado was in Florida to see Hester last week and Cardinal Authority has an update.

Eric Hester is one of the 2016 prospects the University of Louisville basketball staff has been in contact with the most.

The '16 class is likely going to be small for the Cardinals but Hester, a guard from Oldsmar, Fla., has been a top target. U of L assistant coach Mike Balado made a visit to see Hester last week in the Sunshine State.

"He watched me work out," Hester said. "He said that I would look good in the red and black and that I remind him of a Louisville guard.

"I like them a lot and I'll keep talking with coach (Balado)."

Hester said he tried to make an unofficial visit in August but it didn't pan out, noting that "I really want to get there soon."

"I really want to see Louisville and the coaches want me to get there," he said. "I have a good relationship with coach Balado, he's a really good guy who relates well."

Hester has offers from U of L, Florida, Miami, Central Florida, Florida State, South Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi.

"It's been going good," he said.

The 6-foot-3 Hester ranks as the No. 97 player in the '16 class and will be a junior at Oldsmar, Fla., Christian.
