Top 2016 QB commits to Louisville

Edmond, Okla., Keaton Torre pledged to the Cardinals on Saturday

The University of Louisville received a commitment from the class of 2016 on Saturday afternoon in Edmond (Okla.) Sante Fe quarterback Keaton Torre.

"I've decided to further my education and football career and verbally commit to THE University of Louisville!" Torre tweeted this afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect was also drawing interest from Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas and a host of others before announcing his decision.

Torre's first scholarship offer came from U of L and he visited the program in August.

"It exceeded my expectations to the max," Torre told Cardinal Authority. "It was awesome. Coach (Offensive coordinator Garrick) McGee is one-of-a-kind and I got to witness that first hand. It was a great experience."

Torre is friends with 2015 Cardinals commit, three-star wide receiver Dahu Green of Oklahoma City (Ok.) Westmoore High School.

Torre is the second verbal pledge for the Cardinals 2016 recruiting class, joining Suwanee, Geo., cornerback Baylen Buchanan.
