Louisville offers Miami Central '16 safety

Miami Central junior safety Jamel Cook, who possesses elite size for a safety prospect, has been extended a scholarship offer by the University of Louisville staff. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Cook is one of the top 2016 prospects in Dade County.

University of Louisville football assistant coach Lamar Thomas is trying to keep the Miami pipeline flowing for the Cardinals.

U of L has a commitment from Boynton Beach quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals are in on several other prospects in the Class of 2015 from South Florida.

Now, Thomas has offered an elite prospect from Dade County in 2016. Miami Central safety Jamel Cook has landed an offer from the Cardinals.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Cook also has offers from Miami, Florida State and South Florida and is getting interest from a ton of other schools.

Cook said he knows about U of L's history in South Florida and would love to check out campus sometime this winter to see it for himself.

Miami Central has produced several U of L stars, including current senior lineman John Miller and junior defensive back Charles Gaines.
