One week before starting the season with the first of two Red-White scrimmages, the University of Louisville held a private intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday.
And All-American junior Montrezl Harrell was the star of the show.
Harrell, who opted to come back another season instead of turning pro, finished with 32 points, six rebounds, four blocked shots, three assists and two steals to lead the Black team to a 91-82 victory over the Red team.
Harrell finished 10 of 18 from the field and 9 of 14 from the free-throw line. He also hit 3 of 6 from three-point range.
Chris Jones (18 points, eight assists, five rebounds) and Anton Gill (27 points) also came up big for the winning Black team. Freshman Chinanu Onuaku had 14 rebounds and four blocks.
On the Red team, senior Wayne Blackshear led the way with 26 points and five rebounds, while sophomore Terry Rozier had 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Mangok Mathiang finished with eight points and 11 rebounds, while freshman Quentin Snider had 11 points and four assists.
The first of two scrimmages will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the second coming on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Both are at the KFC Yum! Center.
