Louisville No. 25 in first CFB Playoff poll

The University of Louisville football team made it into the inaugural College Football Playoff poll, which was released on Tuesday night. The Cardinals check in at No. 25 and are one of four ACC teams in the poll.

The Cardinals are 6-2 heading into Thursday night's game at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium against No. 2 Florida State. Clemson is No. 21 and Duke is No. 24

U of L just just lost to Clemson and doesn't play Duke. The Cardinals also play at No. 10 Notre Dame on Nov. 22.

The poll was dominated by the SEC: Mississippi State (first), Auburn (third) and Ole Miss (fourth). Alabama is number six, Georgia is 11th and Louisiana State is 19th.

The poll will be released every Tuesday until the college football season concludes.
