Louisville football: Recruiting update

Cardinal Authority takes a look at each of the 21 commitments for the University of Louisville in the Class of 2015 and how they fared last weekend.

The University of Louisville football program has 21 commitments in the Class of 2015. Here’s a look at how those prospects fared this weekend:

James Allen, Citra, Fla., North Marion

Allen sat out in a 47-0 blowout of Belleview; he’s just 12 yards short from the school’s No. 2 spot on the all-time rushing list.

Tim Bonner, DE, Demopolis, Ala.

Demopolis lost 39-29 to 6-A Hillcrest and will now enter the 5-A playoffs this week with an 8-2 record.

Amonte Caban, LB, Smiths Station, Ala.

Caban’s season is complete at 5-5; he finished with 157 tackles on the season.

Aaron Cochran, DE, Hapeville, Ga., Charter

Hapeville lost a third straight with a 28-0 defeat to Atlanta Business Engineering Science Tech school; Cochran made a visit to U of L last weekend.

Matt Colburn, RB, Irmo, S.C., Dutch Fork

Colburn ran 26 times for 126 yards and one touchdown in a 33-3 win over Westwood to move to 8-2 on the season.

Tim Cook, RB, Eastern Arizona

Cook had nine carries for 53 yards in a 21-20 double overtime loss to Pima. He has carried 100 times for 639 yards and seven TDs in eight games.

Dahu Green, WR, Oklahoma City, Okla., Westmoore

Green had seven catches for 211 yards and three touchdowns as Westmoore edged Yukon 37-34 in overtime.

Jonathan Greenard, LB, Hiram, Ga.

Greenard helped Hiram in a 7-0 defensive battle win over East Paulding.

Paul Harris, WR, Iowa Western

Harris didn’t play in a 23-5 win over Fort Scott.

Khalil Hunter, OL, Eastern Arizona

Hunter was solid but his team lost 21-20 in two OTs to Pima.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Boynton Beach, Fla.

Jackson threw for 297 yards and three TDs and rushed for 144 yards and two more in a 37-34 loss to Hallandale. He has 12 TDs in the past two games.

T.J. Jallow, S, Olive Branch, Miss.

Jallow and Olive Branch rolled to a 49-21 win over Hernando.

Chandler Jones, OL, Powder Springs, Ga., McEachern

Jones and McEachern rolled to a 41-17 win over Harrison.

Kareem Orr, RB, Chattanooga, Tenn., Notre Dame

Orr caught a 35-yard TD pass and had a 72-yard kickoff return for a TD in a 68-13 blowout of Grundy County.

Khane Pass, S, Columbus, Ga., Carver

Carver moved to 7-2 with a 56-14 win over Northside.

G.G. Robinson, TE, Lilburn, Ga., Parkview

Parkview lost a third time in four years, dropping a 24-21 decision to Central Gwinnett.

Traveon Samuel, RB, Phenix City, Ala., Central

Central is 9-1 and had an open week; Samuel has over 1,000 yards of total offense this season.

Dee Smith, S, Florence, Ala.

Smith helped Florence to a 50-20 win over Huntsville.

Jaylen Smith, WR, Pascaguola, Miss., High School

The Panthers clinched a playoff spot with a 27-23 win over George County.

Trey Smith, RB, Madison, Miss., Central

Smith had six carries for 30 yards and completed 3 of 8 passes for 38 yards in a 21-20 win over Northwest Rankin.

Troy Thingstad, OL, Mobile, Ala., St. Paul’s Episcopal

Thingstad helped St. Paul’s to a 10-0 regular season record with a 35-7 win over UMS-Wright Prep.
