Louisville the 'leader' for Florida corner

Miami Killian cornerback Sheldrick Redwine is still in the process of setting up his five visits to colleges but said he has a leader. Redwine was visited by U of L coach Terrell Buckley last week and updates Cardinal Authority on his position with the Cardinals.

Miami Killian cornerback Sheldrick Redwine is a three-star prospect but has been a little under the radar until recently with the colleges.

But Redwine has picked up some major interest in recent weeks and is now trying to set up some official visits for after his season.

"It's going better," Redwine said. "I look at the schools and I just want to see who is really serious about me. I know Louisville is serious.

"Coach (Terrell) Buckley came to see me last week. I like talking to him and knowing what he's done in the past. They really want me."

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Redwine plays all over the field for Killian, including corner, safety, long snapper, punter and wide receiver.

Killian is in the second round of the Florida playoffs this week. Redwine has three interceptions, two blocked punts and also a blocked field goal on the season.

"I've had a good year," Redwine said. "It's been a lot of fun for me."

Redwine has offers from U of L, West Virginia, Central Florida, Texas, Temple, South Florida, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Kentucky, Arkansas and Marshall among others.

The schools showing the most interest - and likely to get a visit from Redwine - will be U of L, Texas, South Florida, Arkansas and Kentucky.

"I plan on visiting USF on Jan. 16 and the others we are working on," Redwine said.

When asked if he had a leader at this point, Redwine said "oh yes, it would be Louisville right now. Louisville is a favorite, my leader at this point I would say."
